Town of Chapel Hill Parking Services receives a high volume of inquiries and resolving yours is important to us. However, because parking is a challenge that we work diligently to solve every day, communication can be quite limited. This is a FAQ made to either answer some common questions or direct you to parts of our website or the Town of Chapel Hill’s Website that can answer your questions more thoroughly. Please check below:
- For downtown parking location and rate information, visit our Public Parking
- Did you receive a parking ticket from the Town of Chapel Hill? Visit our Parking Tickets page to get more information on how to pay it or contest it if you believe it was wrongfully issued.
- Downtown Parking Permits are for businesses only. We do not currently offer off-street parking downtown leases for residential purposes.
- UNC affiliates may use CAP permits or purchase Town permits for use at our Park & Ride lots (visit Park & Ride | Town of Chapel Hill, NC for more info). We do not offer downtown parking to UNC affiliates.
- To apply for Residential Parking Permits, visit our Residential Parking Permits
- Looking for Student Parking? Check out our Student Parking page to see if the options we are offering may be viable for you.
- The Town of Chapel Hill Parking Services does not work with or control ticketing, towing, and parking issues in any private lots or parking garages. All disputes must be directed to the private entity that owns that lot or parking garage. We cannot give you any further guidance on the matter.
