Student Parking

For student parking this year, Town of Chapel Hill’s Parking Services are currently offering 24-hour parking at two parking locations: Jones Park Parking Lot and 125 E Rosemary St Parking Deck.

You can find more information about both locations below.

Jones Park Parking Lot

The Jones Park Parking lot is a Town of Chapel Hill leased parking lot with 20 parking spots flanking a short driveway. We usually use this parking lot for every year that we offer student parking.

This is located by 100 Holland Dr, behind Merritt’s Grill and before the Spring Garden Apartment Complex.
For an exact location, type these coordinates into your map/GPS app of choice or select it to open the location in Google Maps:
35°53’47.5″N 79°03’25.6″W

To get back to campus and or downtown, there are bus stops on the corner of S Columbia St and Purefoy Rd where buses C, J, JFX, and NS stop by here.
For more information about bus routes and schedules you can visit the Town of Chapel Hill website.

It is $1200, non-refundable, to reserve a spot for the entire Academic Year.

To possibly reserve a spot here, you’ll just fill out the “2025 – 26 Academic Year Student Parking Form”. If a spot is open, you’ll be contacted by email to confirm if you still want the spot and additional instructions will be given from there.

125 E Rosemary St Parking Deck

The 125 E Rosemary St Parking Deck is our new parking deck that finished construction and opened August 2024. This is a new option for us and there are no guarantees that this will be an option in the future. So, we are offering limited parking spots here for student parking.

The parking deck is located at 125 E Rosemary St, with a way to enter and exit the garage on both E Rosemary St and North St.

Because it’s close to the campus and part of downtown, the use of transit isn’t as a requirement as for the Jones Park location. However, if you need transportation, transit has bus stops on N Columbia St next to Momo’s Master and in front of the Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar. Buses A, G, HS, N, NS, and T stop by here.

For more information about bus routes and schedules you can visit the Town of Chapel Hill website.

It is $1950, non-refundable, to reserve a spot here for the entire Academic Year.

To possibly reserve a spot here, you’ll just fill out the “2025 – 26 Academic Year Student Parking Form” and select “125 E Rosemary St Parking Deck” as the location you are more interested in. If a spot is open, you’ll be contacted by email to confirm if you still want the spot and additional instructions will be given from there.

If you are not eligible for parking options through UNC’s Transportation and Parking, Residential Parking Permit through the Town of Chapel Hill Parking Services, or not interested in and or were not able to secure parking in either Student Parking location, you may be without parking options and the Town cannot provide any other assistance.

There are no plans for Summer Student Parking at this time.
